Outside the Edge (Carvajal, Missana, Zomosa) was a project of five exhibitions with site-specific installations, planed for a route traced in the cities of Punta Arenas (Chile), Montevideo (Uruguay), Oaxaca (Mexico), Cochabamba (Bolivia), and Valparaíso (Chile).
A Journey along the edge (excerpt)
In an unstable state, as is a project that develops during the stages of a journey, the
drawing is thought of as a vehicle: be it manual, digital or as a physical and concrete
extension, in the use of electrical cables in the assemblies, diagrammed as an energetic
flow.
The source of these drawings is the archive, a digital database, with captured, fabricated
or appropriated videos and photographs. These images are incorporated into the work in time
- on the route - as if they were luggage, and define a circuit, at the same time that they
function as a work journal.
At the same time, some processes on these images were monitored with a program that
digitally traces all the movements of the mouse or the digital drawing board, generating
drawings (abstract, register of time), which were used in the video shown in the final
exhibition, in Valparaíso.
